Focused Literacy Assistance in Reading Programme (FLAiR)

The Focused Language Assistance in Reading (FLAiR) programme is a language and literacy programme developed by the Ministry of Education (MOE) in 2007 to provide focused support for K2 children who needs support in building a strong foundation in the English Language and developing a positive disposition towards learning English.

Rolling out this programme in partnership with MOE since 2007, FLAiR provides focused assistance to K2 children at My First Skool centres who have greater needs in language and literacy and require targeted support. FLAiR is provided by para-educational professionals (Pro-FLAiRs) who spend dedicated time daily reading and interacting with the identified K2 children in small groups.

FLAiR has been successful in facilitating children’s progress in language learning, and they have been seen to actively participate in class discussions and language activities after just a few months in the programme.

Who is eligible?

Children who are Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents.
