Our little ones from Little Skool-House at Downtown East rolled up their sleeves for a Community Garden Planting activity, where they planted garlic, chili peppers, and small onions. 🧄🫑🧅 Through hands-on experiences like loosening soil, planting, and watering, they’re not just growing plants but they are developing patience, responsibility and a deeper appreciation for the food on their plates.
By growing their own food, they learn to value every bite and understand the importance of not wasting it. 🌱✨

Guided by Uncle Lai, they came face-to-face with real dinosaur fossils, discovered fascinating creatures from land and sea, and learned why some animals are threatened. But most importantly, they discovered how small actions—like throwing trash in the bin—can make a big difference for wildlife.🌱🐾

After weeks of caring for their garden, they were thrilled to harvest butterfly pea flowers—and put them to delicious use! They whipped up a beautiful batch of blue rice, seasoning it with pandan and lime to explore how natural ingredients enhance flavour and colour.
Who knew learning could be this tasty? With each spoonful, they celebrated their hard work and gained a deeper appreciation for their food and the environment.😉🩵
