Early Intervention Support brings Success

As a single mother, it was a struggle to bring up my child on my own. I was the sole breadwinner and had to handle everything with regard to household and child management on my own.

My son had several learning and development concerns, and it made caring for him all the more difficult. I am grateful for the intervention programmes given at MFS through the Bright Horizons Fund (BHF). Occupational therapy has made my son’s condition improve greatly. He has shown interest in learning and actively participates in class activities. If it weren’t for BHF, my son would never have the opportunity of catching up with his peers. He will be undergoing speech and language therapy soon, and I am looking forward to seeing him improve further.

Besides the vital role of therapy, we have benefitted from other forms of assistance from BHF. Financial subsidies make school fees and other school-related expenses affordable, and the KidSTART programme has extended practical assistance in the form of food rations, Kopitiam card and cooking workshops.

My son has a strong interest in arts and crafts. We received a seascape-themed Little Artiste Kit, and we both worked on it to complete the project. It was a wonderful opportunity for family bonding. This is another example of the programmes that the BHF has to enrich the lives of families. It is not just the big gestures, but the small ones that also have great meaning to us.

Other BHF initiatives like the CDA Top-Up Programme and the You Are Special! birthday programme make my little family’s life so much better. I am able to focus on my son’s development at home without worrying about being unable to give him the best because the BHF has taken care of it. I am so happy to see my son’s progress as he grows to become more curious, active and interested in learning.

You can touch lives through the BHF. Your contribution goes a long way and helps to ensure that children are given opportunities to education regardless of their family backgrounds. Be a part of the BHF family.
