NTUC First Campus’ (NFC) Changemakers Afterschool was recently featured in The Straits Times as part of a story on the growing trend of major preschool operators expanding into after-school care.

Launched in January 2025 at Parkway Parade, Changemakers Afterschool is a natural extension of NFC’s commitment to supporting children and families beyond the preschool years.

The article highlighted the centre’s project-based Young Innovators curriculum, which focuses on nurturing creativity, critical thinking, teamwork, independence and emotional regulation, particularly during the crucial Primary 1 and 2 years. Optional English and academic enrichment programmes are also available to complement children’s learning.

In the feature, Eleanor Tan, NFC’s Chief Growth Officer, shared: “The Primary 1 and 2 years are a particularly important window. As formal academic demands are still relatively manageable, we use this period to help children build strong foundations in life skills such as independence and emotional regulation. This prepares them to cope with increased academic expectations from Primary 3 onwards.”

NFC plans to progressively expand the Changemakers Afterschool concept with more centres across Singapore in the coming years.
